[305932] Study of Fricke dosimeter fading in different materials using the X-ray beam from the RS2000 Small Animal Irradiator

Autores: Ian Hilario, Andrea Mantuano, Arissa Pickler

Resumo: The Fricke is a liquid chemical dosimeter, which is one of the most used for dosimetry and absorbed dose to water conditions. In order to quantify the absorbed dose, Fricke is quite feasible as it offers the value directly. This work aims to correlate the stability curve between Teflon and PMMA petri plates, and polyethylene bags, this one being the most commonly used by the Radiological Sciences Laboratory (LCR/UERJ). Tests were performed using an X-ray irradiator for biological research at the Laboratory. Preliminary results show that Teflon demonstrate a little interaction with Fricke dosimeter for the first 40 days of contact with type A uncertainties of 1.32%. Bag and PMMA plates showed a higher interaction type A uncertainties higher than 5%.
